Michigan vs. Michigan State
U-M Soccer Stadium Ann Arbor, Mich.
The University of Michigan women's soccer team (5-2-3, 0-1-1 Big Ten) returns home for a Big Ten showdown with Michigan State (7-3-1, 2-1-0 Big Ten) on Saturday (Oct. 9) at 7 p.m. inside the U-M Soccer Stadium. Since 1999, the home team in the Michigan/Michigan State rivalry is undefeated, going 6-0-5. The last three meetings between the Wolverines and Spartans have resulted in ties, including last year's scoreless affair. Senior Amanda Bowery (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) is the lone Wolverine with a goal against MSU -- scoring in 2007 and 2008 -- while junior/sophomore Haley Kopmeyer (Troy, Mich./Lahser) is yet to allow a Spartan to find the back of the net, posting a clean slate in the 2009 meeting.

The teams have ended in deadlock six times, with the Wolverines taking one game and the Spartans winning two.
Paint the State Maize and Blue -- The Wolverines will get another chance to improve their record against teams from the state of Michigan this weekend against Michigan State. U-M is 7-0-4 against Great Lakes foes under third-year head coach Greg Ryan.
