The game marked the first time the Michigan Wolverines played another team called the Wolverines. There are only three college teams with Wolverines as their nicknames; Wellesley College is the third.
U-M set a new season high with five stolen bases (Doyle, Ramirez twice, Sappingfield, Romero). Michigan had stolen two bases in a game twice before.
Michigan is 3-2 when Sara Driesenga starts.
Against UVU, Abby Ramirez stole two bases in one game for the first time in her career.
Sierra Romero collected her eighth multi-hit game and second three-hit game of the season. She leads the Wolverines in multi-hit games.
Caitlin Blanchard tallied her seventh multi-hit game of the season, second best on the Wolverines. Blanchard is in the midst of a 12-game hitting streak.
Michigan's shutout streak came to an end at four games.
Haylie Wagner picked up her eighth win of the season. In 2013, she did not earn her eighth win until March 30 (at Penn State).
