LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Three straight days of rain in southern California created unplayable field conditions at Mayfair Park and caused Louisville Slugger Invitational officials to cancel Sunday's (March 2) slate of games, including the matchup between the No. 6-ranked University of Michigan softball team and No. 5 UCLA.
The Wolverines managed just six innings of play at the weekend tournament, winning a rain-shortened game over Utah Valley, 7-1, on Saturday (March 1). Two games on Friday (Feb. 28) against Nevada and UCLA were lost to rain, and one game on Saturday against Long Beach State was washed away as well.

The Maize and Blue is scheduled to continue its West Coast trip with a game Wednesday (March 5) at UCLA in Los Angeles, Calif. First pitch is slated for 7 p.m. PST, and the game will be shown on the Pac-12 Network.
