U-M Sophomore Shortstop Sierra Romero
On her game plan heading into tonight's game ... "Yesterday was a tough loss, but we put it behind us. I didn't have my best hitting game yesterday, so today was all about adjustments and putting the ball in play to get on base for my team."
On falling behind in the count in the at-bat she hit her three-run homer ... "I was waiting for the change-up, and I knew (Ally Carda) liked throwing it. I was going to sit on it and take advantage of what I got. I needed to stop being so selective and careful. I think I've been pretty careful the past few weekends, and I talked to Hutch about it. I was just going to stop being careful and just swing."
On feeling loose at the plate and in the field ... "It helps tremendously. When we're having fun, that's when we're at our best and when I'm at my best. It helps to joke around with Monty (Lindsay Montemarano) out in the field at third base. It's a game and we love to play it, so having fun is key."
On the production from the bottom of the order getting on base ... "That's what I expect from them. From one through nine in the lineup, everyone can get hits and put the ball in play. They did what they needed to do, they came out ready to play."
On playing in front of a big group of family and friends ... "It makes everything that much better, that family love is great. I don't get to see them a lot, but having them here makes it worthwhile."
