Amanda Chidester recorded her first sacrifice bunt of the season.

Lauren Sweet recorded her first hit since going 3-for3 against Temple on March 4.

Sara Driesenga hit the first home run of her career with a shot over the wall in left-center in the third inning. All three freshmen (Driesenga, Lauren Sweet, Haylie Wagner) who have made a plate appearance have hit a home run this season.

Amanda Chidester's grand slam was the fifth of her career.

• RHP Sara Driesenga evened her season record to 5-5.

Brandi Virgil saw her first action in the field this season, playing the final inning in rightfield.

• It was Michigan's second five-inning win this season. U-M knocked off Penn State, 12-1, in five innings on Feb. 12.

• It is only the second time this season U-M has put up double-digit runs.

• Today's game marked the first home game for Michigan after playing 26 consecutive games on the road.

Amanda Chidester's grand slam was the 57th in program history. With five in her career, she is second to only Samantha Findlay (2005-08), who had seven.

• Michigan is now 55-8 all-time against EMU. The two teams will meet again on May 1.
