U-M first baseman Caitlin Blanchard
On what she saw in the at-bat when she hit a grand slam ... "Every time you get up there you're just looking for your pitch, it doesn't matter what happened in front of you or what the count is -- you've got to see your pitch and that's what I did. I saw it well and I hit it."
On batting in the cleanup spot in the lineup ... "It doesn't matter where they put me in the order I'm just trying to work hard for the team. Whether I'm in the seventh spot or the fourth spot I'm just going to try and do what I can at the plate."
On hitting a grand slam at Alumni Field ... "It's really great to play here, my parents both went to Michigan and met at Michigan so to wear this uniform and represent Michigan in a game like today is something I am really proud of."
U-M pitcher Sara Driesenga
On today's outing ... "I felt a lot more in control, I'm definitely working on going out each game and getting a little better. Groundball outs are just as good as strikeouts -- they're all outs."
On the 5-4-3 double play in the second ... "It pumps everybody up and gets the momentum going for us. To be able to turn those around shows we can produce when we need to."
On picking up her 20th win of the season ... "It's an awesome thing, but those 20 wins for me are all about 20 wins for the team. That helps us reach our team goals, and that is a national championship and a Big Ten championship."
