U-M Junior Pitcher Haylie Wagner
On helping herself with a two-run double in the first inning ... "I just went up there and relaxed. They had walked Caitlin Blanchard before me and I was just waiting for that strike. I wanted to have my timing down. Once (MSU pitcher Kelly Smith) threw a strike, I just waited for the next one. My swing felt great, I was relaxed and focused on."
On coming back from being hit for the second time by striking out the side ... "If anybody gets hit twice on the team, I get mad about it. Once is enough -- two times, and you get fired up. I was a little fired up there, and I was a little mad -- but I just stayed focused in on my pitches, and that was probably my best inning."
On winning on Alumni Night at Alumni Field ... "It was great to have all the alums here, it's so great seeing them come back and see how much they love Michigan. We want to thank them for making all of this possible. It's great to recognize them and thank them in person."
