Michigan Senior Infielder Ashley Lane
On how the team felt after her home run ... "I think we needed to let some pressure off of Sara, getting those extra insurance runs was a big deal at the time."
On finally realizing was a home run on the umpire's signal ... "Honestly I was just running and the last thing I saw was the ball pop back in (to the field of play) so I was just going. But thank goodness it was actually a home run. It was a relief."
On the importance of winning a close game late in the season ... "It's a big deal because every game in the postseason is a tight game. Putting ourselves in that kind of situation and fighting is exactly what we're going to be doing from here on out, so it was good for us."
On Sara Driesenga's performance ... "I was definitely proud of Sara today. She got backed into a corner a few times but she let them put it in play and we backed her up. She did great today."
