U-M Senior Designated Player Nikki Nemitz
On the Michigan mentality through the game ... "We just wanted to fight and battle through everything we could. We just tried to control what we could control. We had a game plan, and we just needed to stick to it. I think if someone was lacking, someone else was right there to pick them up. We were cheering for everyone and playing for each other. Sticking to our game plan -- that's the only thing that we could really control."
On Michigan's close wins lately ... "It's showing us that we can't press. Hutch talked to us a little bit at the end of the game. We have been pressing these last several games, like we urgently have to do something to win. We don't need to do anything but have fun and play softball, trust our teammates, trust our coaches and trust in ourselves that we can do it. That's all we have out there on the field; nothing else matters."
On the Wolverines' third straight Big Ten title ... "It's really important to us. Every win and every championship is important. I didn't know we were the first to win three straight until Hutch mentioned it after the game. It feels good to be creating history -- this senior class. There have been so many great teams in the past. It feels so good that we're leaving our mark on the U-M, because it's a really tough place to leave a mark."
