Nicole Sappingfield recorded her fourth outfield assist of the season when she threw out a runner at third in the first inning. She is now tied for the team lead.

Amy Knapp stole her seventh base of the season, setting a new career high (previous: six in 2011).

Sierra Romero walked for the 48th time this season, giving her sole possession of third place on U-M's single-season list (passing former U-M player Dorian Shaw, who walked 47 times in 2010).

Brandi Virgil entered the game as a pinch runner, her 40th game played in 2013.

• Tonight's evening session, which featured the Texas/Arizona State game along with the Michigan/Oklahoma game, set a new day-one session record with an attendance of 8,860.

• Michigan is now 12-7 all-time against Oklahoma, including a 0-2 record at the WCWS.
