LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The No. 6-ranked University of Michigan softball team announced today (Monday, March 3) a makeup contest with No. 5 UCLA will be played Tuesday (March 4) at Easton Stadium at 7 p.m. PST.
The Wolverines and Bruins had two contests washed away by rain over the weekend at the Louisville Slugger Invitational held in Lakewood, Calif. The first game was originally scheduled for Feb. 28 and a second game was added for March 2, but both were lost to rain and unplayable field conditions.
Tuesday's game will mark the first meeting between the two schools since March 2, 2012, a 5-3 U-M win in Orlando, Fla. Overall, the two programs have played 17 times, with a 8-8-1 record for each.
Michigan carries a 13-2 mark into the contest with 16-0 UCLA.
Free audio and live stats of the game will be available at UCLABruins.com.
Tuesday's game will be the first of a two-game series. The two squads will meet again Wednesday, March 5, at Easton Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. PST, and the game will be aired live on the Pac-12 Network.
