March 12, 2012
Each week during the 2012 season, MGoBlue.com will ask each member of the University of Michigan softball team the same question as the "Question of the Week."
Week 6: What song would be the theme song of your life?
Becca Garfinkel -- My song would be "Not Afraid" by Eminem because I think being fearless is a great goal to strive for, and I try to be unafraid in everything that I do. I also am obsessed with Eminem and really admire him for everything he's done for the city of Detroit.
Lauren Sweet -- I would have to say "Growing up" by The Maine would be the theme song of my life right now. It just talks about getting older, looking back at pictures and missing home, but how it's all a part of growing up and having new experiences. This was really relatable for me because I do miss home, but I love where I'm at now!
Amanda Chidester -- This is a really tough question, but right now I think "Good life" by One Republic! This is one of my favorite songs of all time! I think this is the theme song of my life right now because I know "this has got to be a good, good life!" I have been so blessed to play for the University of Michigan, and I am so thankful everyday for all of the great people who have become a part of my life! Special shout out to Mandy Gardner for reminding me of this song.
Jaclyn Crummey -- I really can't think of any specific song to describe me, but I definitely need to be able to dance to it. I was a dancer for 10 years, so I like to pull out some moves whenever I get the chance.
Sara Driesenga -- The theme song to my life would probably be "Walking on Sunshine" because it's so upbeat and puts a smile on everyone's face. I think this explains who I am because everyone always comments about how happy I am or how nice I act. Some people on the team joke that they hope to be there when I get angry just so they can see what it looks like.
Amy Knapp -- "Born to Be Wild" by Steppenwolf because, well, self-explanatory.
Lyndsay Doyle -- This was a really hard question for me because I love music and there are a lot of songs that describe my life. So I went online and took a "what song would describe your life?" quiz and the result was "La La Land" by Demi Lovato.
Mandy Gardner -- The song that would be the "theme song" of my life would be "Pocketful of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfield. It is extremely upbeat and makes me happy! Also, I always have a smile on my face and try to bring happiness to others!
Hilary Payne -- If I had to pick a theme song to my life it would be "Walk by Faith" by Jeremy Camp. This song sings about relying on God for strength and guidance in our lives and not relying on ourselves. This is how I try to live my life. I know that no matter what happens, if I walk by faith and trust in God, there is nothing to fear.
Taylor Hasselbach -- "Care" by Kid Rock featuring Martina McBride would have to be my theme song because it talks about not being perfect but having passion to change the world by doing the little things to help people. The main phrase in the song that stuck out to me is, "I can't change the world to make things fair, but the least I can do is care."
Bree Evans -- "Words" by Train because it tells you how you can't let words affect you, which I like to live by even though it is hard sometimes.
Brandi Virgil -- I would like if the theme song to my life was "Pocket Full of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfield. It's really upbeat, and I try my best to always be smiling, positive and happy!
Haylie Wagner -- I couldn't pick just one theme song of my life, but since I have to choose, I would pick "Get Back Up" by T.I. I always listen to this song when I have a bad day, bad game or just need something to pick me up. I have always liked the song in general.
Katie Luetkens -- The song I would pick to represent my life is "Lessons Learned" by Carrie Underwood. Life is not only about the lessons we learn, but how we deal with and move forward from them.
Caitlin Blanchard -- "White and Nerdy" by Weird Al Yankovic. I think the title says it all.
Stephanie Kirkpatrick -- A theme song for my life you ask, well if I had to choose one song that would represent my life so far it would be "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi. I truly believe that you only live once and instead of going through the motions of life you should do what makes you happy! ALWAYS! Try new things, new experiences and do not be scared to do random things or think/live outside the box a little. (Especially while you are young!) It is my life and I want to have stories to tell!
