Big Ten Network Announces 2014 Softball Coverage Schedule

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Big Ten Network announced Wednesday (March 19) its 2014 softball coverage schedule, including four games featuring the No. 6-ranked University of Michigan softball team, with the possibility of adding more during the final weekend of competition (May 2-4).

The Maize and Blue will be featured twice at the Wilpon Complex, home of Alumni Field against No. 16 Minnesota, and twice during road contests.

BTN will select "wild card" games during the final regular season weekend of competition to air on the network as well. Plus, seven games from the Big Ten Tournament (May 9-11) held in Evanston, Ill., will also run on the Big Ten Network .

In addition, a number of Michigan softball games will be available for a fee on MGoBlueTV, part of the Big Ten Digital Network. The MGoBlueTV video streaming schedule includes seven home games that will be produced by BTN Student U, as well as any road games carried on the BTDN (final schedule to be determined). Additional home games may be added, and the BTDN schedule is subject to change.

An MGoBlueTV subscription package is $9.95 a month or $79.95 annually and includes all Michigan live events streamed on the BTDN as well as other premium on-demand content. More than 30 home events are scheduled for MGoBlueTV this spring across the sports of baseball, softball, and men's and women's lacrosse. Michigan is scheduled to appear on the Big Ten Digital Network at least seven times in 2014.

The Wolverines have captured six consecutive Big Ten titles -- a feat no other school has matched.

The Maize and Blue is scheduled to open up 2014 Big Ten Conference play on Friday (March 21) against Indiana in Ann Arbor, Mich. First pitch for the home opener is slated for 4 p.m. at the Wilpon Complex, home of Alumni Field.
