ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan softball team will hold its third annual "Michigan Softball Academy" on Thursday (May 10) at the Wilpon Complex, home of Alumni Field. Registration begins at 4 p.m. and the clinic will run from 5-8 p.m.

Participants must be at least 21 years old and space is limited to 200 participants. Registration and more information is available at msoftballacademy.org or at the event.

"The Academy is similar to clinics that we host for young kids, but this is for adults only," head coach Carol Hutchins explained. "All participants have the opportunity to play ball on Alumni Field with our coaches and student-athletes and help raise money for a terrific cause. You will learn the fundamentals of the game, go through drills that our team practices daily and compete in a softball game at the end."

Following the event, there is a social mixer and silent auction at the Junge Family Champions Center from 8-9:30 p.m.

In addition, the No. 22-ranked Wolverines will host Purdue on Friday night (May 11) at 6 p.m. The game is Michigan's "Think Pink" game and the Wolverines will don pink jerseys in support of breast cancer research.
