WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Four members of the University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team were in action on Saturday (Feb. 25) at the Boiler-Make-It Last Chance Meet, held at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center.

The only swimmer to earn an NCAA consideration time on the day was sophomore Courtney Beidler (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South). She swam the 400-yard individual medley, getting clocked at 4:18.05. She swam the same race in 4:13.70 last week at the Big Ten Championships.

The other three swimmers were juniors Kally Fayhee (North Aurora, Ill./Rosary), Linnea Johnson (Grand Haven, Mich./Grand Haven) and Sam Pearson (Las Vegas, Nev./Faith Lutheran). Fayhee was in the pool for three races but only finished one, touching the wall at 1:51.04 in the 200-yard freestyle. She was disqualified in the 500-yard freestyle and false-started the 200-yard butterfly. Johnson swam in both butterflies, getting timed at 56.13 in the 100-yard butterfly and 2:05.61 in the 200-yard butterfly, while Pearson swam the 200-yard backstroke in 2:01.12.

The Wolverines have one final opportunity to either improve on past times or acquire new ones before the announcement of the NCAA Championships field, and that comes tomorrow (Sunday, Feb. 26), as they will be swimming at the OSU Last Chance Meet at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio. The meet will begin at noon.
