FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Two freshman divers from the No. 22-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team competed on the three-meter springboard Saturday (Dec. 31) at the Fort Lauderdale Diving Invitational, held during the team's annual semester break training trip.
Fort Lauderdale native Marina Nazario (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) won the competition with a score of 277.95, making it her second win off that board this season, the other coming against Toledo on Oct. 22. Emily Boyd (Monrovia, Calif./Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy) was the other U-M diver in action, finishing third with a score of 234.75.
The Wolverines will wrap up their semester break training trip this weekend and return to Ann Arbor to prepare for the second half of the season, which begins Saturday (Jan. 7) when the eighth-ranked Indiana Hoosiers visit Canham Natatorium for a dual meet at noon.
