AUGUST 15 -- Senior diver Amanda Lohman tied for 15th on the three-meter board and finished 27th on the one-meter board at the AT&T National Diving Championships last week (Aug. 9-14), held at UCLA.

AUGUST 6 -- Ten Wolverines competed at the 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships, held Aug. 2-6 in Palo Alto, Calif. Times for each swimmer are listed below:

JULY 25 -- Junior Sam Pearson finished fifth in the 200-meter backstroke at the Speedo Champions Series Central Zone Sectional Meet at Cleveland State last weekend, earning a spot at the 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships, to be held Aug. 2-6 in Palo Alto, Calif. Pearson finished with a time of 2:18.26, narrowly missing an Olympic Trials cut.

Pearson also finished seventh in the 100-meter backstroke (1:04.84), a qualifying time for the Speedo Junior National Championships, to be held Aug. 8-12, also in Palo Alto. The other 'A' finalist of the weekend was sophomore Courtney Beidler, who finished seventh in the 200-meter butterfly (2:21.05).

JULY 17 -- Senior diver Amanda Lohman finished second on the three-meter board and third on the one-meter board at the Zone A Preliminaries in Christiansburg, Va., over the weekend to qualify for the AT&T National Diving Championships, to be held Aug. 9-14 in Los Angeles, Calif

Lohman was joined at the meet by fellow U-M divers Brianna Maroukis and Erin Bridgewater. Bridgewater finished 18th (three-meter) and 27th (one-meter), while Maroukis took 25th (three-meter) and 30th (one-meter)

MAY 22 -- Twelve Wolverines swam at the Boilermaker Early Bird Invitational, held in West Lafayette, Ind., from May 19-22. Several swam top-eight finishes, including Ashley Cohagen (2nd in the 100m Butterfly, 2nd in 100m Backstroke), Angela Chokran (1st in 100m Breaststroke), Courtney Beidler (5th in 400m IM), Linnea Johnson (6th in 100m Butterfly), Deirdre Jones (8th in 200m Freestyle), Julia Andracki (2nd in 100m Breaststroke), Nikki Hubbard (7th in 100m Breaststroke) and Liz Johnson (5th in 100m Backstroke). MAY 15 -- Several Wolverines wrapped up competition at the Charlotte UltraSwim, part of USA Swimming's Grand Prix Series. Caitlin Dauw finished sixth in both the 100-meter butterfly and the 200-meter butterfly, garnering a consideration time for the World Championships in the 100 and a USA Olympic Trials qualifying time in the 200. Adrienne Bicek had two qualifying times for the Speedo Junior Nationals, finishing 18th in the 200-meter butterfly and 20th in the 400-meter individual medley.

MAY 14 -- Diver Amanda Lohman finished in 11th place on the one-meter springboard at the World Championships Synchronized and One-Meter Diving Trials in Tallahassee, Fla. Lohman was ninth in the preliminaries (253.80) and qualified for the finals, where she finished with a total score of 500.20.

MAY 13 -- As part of the many community service projects undertaken throughout the season, swimmers Natasha Moodie, Kristina Jaeger, Melissa Lang and Ashley Cohagen walked laps with elementary school students at Haisley Elementary's annual walkathon. The event, which raises money for the school, promotes healthy activity and sees the students take laps around the school's track. For more information, click here.
