Arena International Grand Prix (May 30-June 2, Santa Clara, Calif.)
Five U-M swimmers representing Club Wolverine competed at the 2013 Arena International Grand Prix at the George F. Haines International Swim Center, highlighted by Jessica Wolf's eighth-place finish in the 1,500-meter freestyle. Wolf touched at 17:15.26 to finish in the top eight. She also had a strong showing in the 800-meter freestyle with a 17th place finish at 9:03.80. Her third event was the 400-meter freestyle (48th, 4:29.11).
Angela Chokran took ninth in the 100-meter breaststroke, placing in the A final with a time of 1:10.71. She also swam the 50-meter freestyle (86th, 28.14). Ali DeLoof turned in the Wolverines' other top-20 finish when she took 17th in the 100-meter backstroke at 1:03.65. DeLoof competed in two other events, taking 37th in the 50-meter freestyle (26.55) and 50th in the 100-meter free (57.94).
Joining DeLoof and Chokran in the 50-meter freestyle were Zoe Mattingly (48th, 26.92) and Deirdre Jones (50th, 26.95). That duo also swam the 100-meter freestyle, with Mattingly finishing 67th (58.51) and Jones taking 99th (59.74). Mattingly capped her appearance in Santa Clara with a 40th-place finish in the 100-meter butterfly (1:03.63), while Jones also competed in the 200-meter freestyle (59th, 2:06.63).

USA Swimming Open Water National Championships (May 20-23, Miramar, Fla.)
Former U-M All-American Emily Brunemann (2006-10) recently competed in the USA Swimming Open Water National Championships held at Lower Castaic Lake, Calif. Brunemann finished in third place in the 5K, with a time of 1:00:38. She took fourth place in the 10K with a time of 2:02:16.507. In both races, she narrowly missed out on a spot at the FINA World Championships to be held July 19-Aug. 4 in Barcelona, Spain.
Arena Grand Prix (May 9-12, Charlotte, N.C.)
Ten U-M swimmers competed for Club Wolverine at the 2013 Arena Grand Prix at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center, highlighted by seven top-eight finishes in 'A' finals.
Angela Chokran finished in the top 10 in three events. Chokran took sixth in the 200-meter breaststroke at 2:35.09, eighth in the 50-meter breastroke at 32.85 and ninth in the 100-meter breaststroke at 1:11.30. Her times in the 100- and 200-meter breaststrokes were World Championship Trials qualifying times for USA Swimming.
Ali DeLoof achieved one WCT cut with her sixth place finish in the 100-meter backstroke at 1:02.69. She also took eighth in the 50-meter backstroke (29.22). Marni Oldershaw also achieved a pair of top-10 finishes by placing sixth in the 400-meter individual medley (4:51.73) and eighth in the 200-meter IM (2:17.55). She finished first in the 'B' final of the 200-meter backstroke and ninth overall at 2:15.63
Claudia Lau touched eighth in the 'A' final of in the 200-meter backstroke (2.17.71). Zoe Mattingly won the 'B' final of the 100-meter backstroke with her time of 1:04.35. Courtney Beidler claimed a WCT cut with her 10th place finish in the 400-meter IM (4:49.71).
Other swimmers who competed in Charlotte include Marie Georger, Nikki Hubbard, Deirdre Jones and Sharalynn Missiuna.
