LINCOLN, Neb. -- The No. 15-ranked University of Michigan women's tennis team won its fifth consecutive match, claiming the doubles point and all six singles matches in straight sets in a 7-0 victory at Nebraska on Sunday (March 30) at the Nebraska Tennis Center.

Michigan marched out to huge advantages on all three doubles courts, winning identical 8-1 matches at No. 1 and No. 3 for the match's first point. Senior Brooke Bolender (Delray Beach, Fla./Kaplan) and junior Emina Bektas (Indianapolis, Ind./New Braunfels) won the first match for Maize and Blue at No. 1, with freshman Laura Ucros (Bogota, Colombia/Fundación Nuevo Marymount) and junior Kristen Dodge (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) sealing the point with a victory at No. 3.

The Wolverines did not miss a beat heading into singles play, taking all six singles matches in convincing fashion. Bolender finished first, taking a 6-2, 6-3 win over Mary Hanna at No. 3 to push Michigan's lead to 2-0.

Junior Sarah Lee (Los Angeles, Calif./Campbell Hall) quickly followed Bolender with a 6-0, 6-2 win of her own at No. 2. Bektas put the team match away with her fifth straight win at No. 1, a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Maggy Lehmicke.

Dodge kept Michigan perfect on the day with a straight-set win at No. 5, with freshman Sara Remynse (Richland, Mich./Gull Lake) winning the first dual match of her career at No. 6.

Sophomore Amy Zhu(Newark, Del./Laurel Springs) wrapped up the day for the Maize and Blue by winning at No. 4 (6-4, 6-2).

Michigan returns home for four straight matches, beginning on Saturday (April 5) against Northwestern at noon.
