ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 14-ranked University of Michigan women's tennis team completed its home slate with a 6-1 win over Wisconsin on Sunday afternoon (April 13) at the Varsity Tennis Center. The match marked the last regular-season home match for senior Brooke Bolender (Delray Beach, Fla./Kaplan), who was honored as part of Senior Day.

Michigan wrapped up the doubles point in quick fashion, winning, 8-2, at No. 1 and finishing moments later with an 8-1 win at No. 2.

Just as Bektas and Bolender were walking to the net to end their match, junior Sarah Lee (Los Angeles, Calif./Campbell Hall) and sophomore Amy Zhu (Newark, Del./Laurel Springs) completed their match at No. 2 by an 8-1 margin. The match at No. 3 featuring freshman Annie Wierda (Holland, Mich./Westminster Christian School) and sophomore Ronit Yurovsky (New Kensington, Pa./Plum) was not completed as the U-M pair led 6-2.

Michigan stayed in control in singles play, winning all six first sets. It was a race to finish, as junior Kristen Dodge (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) provided the second point for Michigan with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 6.

Bektas quickly followed with another straight-set decision at No. 1, knocking off Lauren Chypyha (6-2, 6-2). Zhu was the clinching point for the Maize and Blue with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 5 as Michigan led 4-0.

Bolender was victorious on her Senior Day, taking a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4. Lee followed with a 6-2, 6-4 decision at No. 3 to complete Michigan's scoring on the day. Wisconsin put its only point on the board with a win at No. 2.
