ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan women's tennis coach Ronni Bernstein announced the signing of blue chip recruit Mira Ruder-Hook (Denver, Colo./Laurel Springs) to a National Letter of Intent on Thursday (April 17). Ruder-Hook will join the Wolverines for the 2014-15 academic year.
"We are really excited about the addition of Mira to our program," Bernstein said. "When she and her family visited, we knew she would be a great fit with our team. Mira will bring great enthusiasm and a strong work ethic both on and off the court. We look forward to her arrival next year."
Ruder-Hook moved up from four-star status as a freshman to a blue chip ranking high of 18 in the class of 2015 and an ITF ranking high of 124. She has won three ITF Grade 4 titles, two in New Zealand and the other in Barbados. She is the top-ranked senior in the state of Colorado and won the singles state championship in 2011.
She has four intermountain sectional singles titles and 10 sectional doubles crowns. Ruder-Hook reached the quarterfinals in the 2014 Grade A Orange Bowl in doubles action and was a doubles finalist at the 2014 GB1 Easter Bowl. She won the bronze ball at Winter Nationals in 2010 and won two doubles titles at Level 2 National Open tournaments.
Ruder-Hook joins blue-chip recruit Alex Najarian (Birmingham, Mich./Cranbook Kingswood), who signed in the fall to join the Wolverines for the 2014-15 academic year.
