DES MOINES, Iowa -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team was represented by freshman Cindy Ofili (Ypsilanti, Mich./Huron) in the 100-meter hurdles and senior triple jumper Ada Unachukwu (Morganville, N.J./Marlboro) on the final day of the Drake Relays on Saturday (April 27) at Drake Stadium.
On the opening day (Friday, April 26), Ofili ran the fastest time in the 100-meter hurdles prelims to automatically qualify for the finals today, when she took fourth in the time of 13.56. Unachukwu placed 13th in the triple jump with a mark of 12.09 meters (39-8).
Junior Erin Busbee (Cleveland, Ohio/Collinwood) highlighted the field events on Friday, finishing fourth in the long jump with a career best of 6.08 meters (19-11.50), which currently ranks fourth in the Big Ten. Senior Erin Pendleton (Lindsey, Ohio/Woodmore) secured a fifth-place finish in the discus with a throw of 52.03 meters (170-8).
The Wolverines will wrap up the regular season next week at the Toledo Invitational on Thursday and Friday (May 2-3).
