KAMLOOPS, British Columbia -- Freshman Erin Finn (West Bloomfield, Mich./West Bloomfield) of the University of Michigan women's track and field team represented Team USA in the 5,000-meter run at the North America, Central American, & Caribbean (NACAC) U-23 Championships, winning the event, on Sunday (Aug. 10), at Hillside Stadium.

Finn was the lone 5,000-meter runner selected by Team USA and was joined by only Elisa Hernandez Sanchez of Mexico in the race. Finn set a new meet record, completing the race in 16:06.26 and out legging Sanchez by 1:05.15 to claim the title in her first appearance in the event.

Finn will now return to Ann Arbor to prepare for cross country preseason team camp, which will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 20. The 2013 All-American will lead a squad that returns every member of its NCAA fourth-place finishing team from a year ago.
