BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- The University of Michigan volleyball team improved to 4-0 on its 13-day South America trip with a four-set victory over Gimnasia Y Esgrima La Plata Tuesday night (June 4) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Set scores were 25-16, 26-24, 24-26 and 25-22 over La Plata, a club that finished fourth in Argentina's National League.
Seniors Lexi Erwin (Spring, Texas/Woodlands College Park) and Jennifer Cross (Scarborough, Ontario/Birchmount Park Collegiate) each had 12 kills on the night in the win. Erwin also had a team-high three blocks. Sophomore Krystalyn Goode (River Hills, Wis./Nicolet) added 10 kills on a .643 attack percentage.
On defense, sophomore Tiffany Morales (Redondo Beach, Calif./Redondo Union) had a team-high 18 digs.
Michigan wraps up its matches in Buenos Aires on Wednesday morning (June 5) against Boca Juniors, a team that finished second in Argentina's National League.
