Michigan won the first 11 sets of the season before falling in the third set to Oregon State tonight. The Wolverines had sweeps over Clemson, Xavier and Northern Kentucky last week.
Michigan has had a .300 or better hitting percentage in all four matches this season. The Wolverines hit .341 in tonight's match, including hitting .500 in the first set.
The 11 blocks by the Maize and Blue are a season high and the most since U-M had 12.5 blocks in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament vs. Tennessee (Nov. 29, 2012).
Michigan improves its all-time series record against Oregon State to 3-1. The Wolverines have won two matches in a row against the Beavers.
Cole also set a career high in blocks and has the team high for the season. Krystalyn Goode had eight blocks in the season opener against Clemson.
Senior Lexi Erwin recorded a double-double. She had 13 kills and 11 digs. Erwin picked up her 27th career double-double and the first by a Wolverine in 2013.
Junior Lexi Dannemiller had a season-high three services aces to go along with her 46 assists.
Sophomore Tiffany Morales led U-M with 17 digs. She had led the team in digs 34 times in her career and now had 13 consecutive double-digit dig performances dating back to last season.
