Michigan cut the Boilermaker lead to 11-8 on a Purdue error, but the Boilers stretched their lead all the way to 18-10. Erwin's termination cut it to 18-13 and a Purdue error made it 19-15, but Purdue closed out the second set 25-19 on Ariel Turner's sixth kill of the set.
U-M went up 4-2 in the third set on back-to-back Boilermaker attack errors, but blocks from Kierra Jones and Turner was the end of a 9-0 Purdue run, giving the home team an 11-4 lead, which eventually swelled to 20-10.
