Michigan advances to the national semifinal for the first time in program history.
The Wolverines are one of two Big Ten teams in the national semifinal, joining Penn State.
U-M has defeated Stanford three straight times, winning the regional semifinal in 2009, the second round in 2011 and the regional final in 2012.
Michigan is the only unseeded team remaining in the NCAA Tournament.
The Wolverines improve to 18-12 all-time in NCAA Tournament play.
The Maize and Blue improves to 6-5 in four-set matches.
Michigan had four players in double digits in kills for the first time since Nov. 16 against Northwestern.
Lexi Erwin led the Wolverines in kills for the 27th time this season and the 42nd in her career. She also had double digits in kills for the 33rd time this season and had 20-plus kills for the ninth time this season.
Erwin recorded her 17th double-double of the season and 26th of her career.
Tiffany Morales led Michigan in digs for the 30th time this year as she had 22 on the night. She also had 20-plus digs for the seventh time this season.
Lexi Dannemiller had 50-plus assists for the 10th time this season and the 22nd time in her career.
