Recruiting Class Named to Volleyball Magazine's Girls Fab 50

Feb. 20, 2014

BRAINTREE, Mass. -- The University of Michigan volleyball recruiting class for the 2014-15 academic year were all named to the 2014 Volleyball Magazine's Girls Fab 50 list, the publication announced Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 19).

Claire Kieffer-Wright (South Pasadena, Calif./South Pasadena), Caroline Knop (Pasadena, Calif./LaSalle), Adeja Lambert (Rockford, Ill./Keith Country Day) and Katherine Mahlke (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) all made the prestigious list. Michigan is tied for the second-most recruits on the list. Penn State has six, while Michigan, USC and Purdue have four apiece.

U-M has now had 22 players named to the "Fab 50" list, including current players in senior Lexi Dannemiller (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West), sophomores Ally Davis (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central), Krystalyn Goode (River Hills, Wis./Nicolet) and freshman Abby Cole (Grand Haven, Mich./Grand Haven).

The quartet of recruits on the list is the most for Michigan in school history. The Wolverines had three recurits (Sloane Donhoff, Courtney Fletcher and Claire McElheny) make the Fab 50 in 2008.

The Wolverines return 10 letterwinners and add the four recruits for the 2014 season. Michigan is coming off an 18-14 regular season and its eighth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2013.
