BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- The University of Michigan volleyball team wrapped up the Argentina portion of its South America tour with a four-set win over Boca Juniors on Thursday morning (June 5). Set scores were 25-21, 25-22, 16-25 and 25-23 over Boca, a club that finished second in Argentina's National League.
Senior Jennifer Cross (Scarborough, Ontario/Birchmount Park Collegiate) led the U-M offensive attack with 11 kills and a .333 hitting percentage. Sophomore Krystalyn Goode (River Hills, Wis./Nicolet) added nine kills and hit .500, while senior Molly Toon (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) added seven kills on 20 swings.
On defense, fifth-year senior Brittany Lee (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) had a team-high 15 digs while playing at libero. Junior Lexi Dannemiller (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) had 13 digs, while sophomore Ally Davis (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) had a team-best three blocks.
Michigan will have a travel day on Thursday (June 6) to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Wolverines then will face Flamengo in Rio on Friday (June 7), the first of two matches against the Brazilian club.
