CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Michigan volleyball team will have five matches televised on the Big Ten Network in 2013, the network and the Big Ten Conference jointly announced this afternoon (Thursday, Aug. 15). The matchups include home-and-home telecasts against Illinois and Penn State and a road matchup at Ohio State.
Michigan will have both matches in the opening week of Big Ten play televised on the network. The Wolverines are at Ohio State on Friday, Sept. 27, with a new time of 8 p.m. The Wolverines then will head to Penn State on Saturday, Sept. 28, with a new start time of 7:30 p.m. Michigan's first home telecast will be against Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 5. The start time for that match will be announced at a later date. The Maize and Blue hosts Penn State on BTN Friday, Nov. 1, at 8 p.m. and the fifth BTN match will be Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Illinois starting at 7:30 p.m. EDT (6:30 p.m. CDT).
The Big Ten Network also has two wildcard dates -- Saturday, Nov. 16, and Saturday, Nov. 30. The network will pick those matchups in the middle of the season.
Since the Big Ten Network's inception in 2007, Michigan volleyball has been shown 26 times on the channel, including the five matches this season.
The Big Ten Network streaming and Student U volleyball schedule will be released at a later date.

Single-Game Tickets Now on Sale
Single-game tickets for the 2013 Michigan volleyball home schedule are now on sale at the University of Michigan ticket office or online at MGoBlue.com/tickets. The 15-match home schedule starts on Friday, Sept. 6, against Oregon State at Cliff Keen Arena beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $8 for a chairback, $7 for a general admission adult, $5 for a general admission youth and senior and $3 for the group rate (10 or more tickets purchased for a match).
Fans can purchase a three-match NCAA Flashback pack for just $6 apiece for a chairback or $4 for a general admission ticket. The pack includes matches against 2012 NCAA opponents Nebraska (Friday, Oct. 11), Penn State (Friday, Nov. 1) and Michigan State (Wednesday, Nov. 27).
U-M volleyball fans also will have a chance to see the Wolverines for free on Friday, Sept. 20, against Marshall at 11:30 a.m. inside Crisler Center. That match is the Maize and Blue's second-annual "Block Out Bullying" event. That match is part of the Michigan Invitational and one ticket will be good for the entire day of action.
