Oct. 10, 2011
Each week during the 2011 season, MGoBlue.com will ask each member of the University of Michigan volleyball team the same question as the "Question of the Week."
Week 8: What do you want to do when you are done playing volleyball and graduate from the University of Michigan?
Courtney Fletcher - When I graduate, which is approaching at a rate that I am not quite comfortable with, I want to go into either production for sports broadcasting or media relations for a team. I also love screenwriting and would like to write scripts in my spare time.
Lexi Dannemiller - After college, I am not sure what I want to do but ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a dolphin trainer. They are my favorite animals, and I used to read children's books about them. I even tried convincing my parents to let me go to a dolphin training camp in Miami. The dream will never die.
Alex Hunt - I am currently trying to figure that out. I would like to find a job in which I can apply my communications degree such as sales, marketing, or advertising.
Catherine Yager - When I graduate from Michigan, I would like to be working with some sort of sports affiliated job, either with a professional sport or collegiate sport!
Jennifer Cross - After graduation, I would really like to explore the option of playing professional volleyball for a couple of years if I was able to. It would be a great way to see the world and some things only come once in life. After that, my plans are to hopefully attend medical school and see where that takes me. I would really love to stay involved in the sport and hopefully incorporate that into my career in some way.
Karlee Bruck - I am a little over a semester away from getting my degree to become an elementary school teacher!
Sloane Donhoff - I really want to get into marketing and brand management. My dream company to work for would be Procter and Gamble because they have such a variety of products and it would be amazing to work with some of the labels they have, like Olay, CoverGirl, Venus, Crest, Secret and multiple fragrances.
Michelle McMahon - I want to get into sports broadcasting when I graduate, hoping to start as a volleyball analyst and then working my way into sideline reporting for college football, which I have had a passion for since I was five. My second interest would be sports publicity, which would ideally entail representing individual athletes. I love sports and can't get enough so it would be the ideal job for me.
Olivia Reed - When I graduate I want to be a screenwriter. I would love to be a writer for Pixar.
Lauren Teknipp - I really want to be a sideline reporter for the NFL or NBA, just like what Erin Andrews does!
Claire McElheny - I am interested in health and nutrition. I am working on an internship at a pain clinic for next summer, which will be a great experience and hopefully open a lot of doors for when I graduate.
Lexi Erwin - I really want to give back for all the things in life that have been given to me. I would like to take a route in social work, and right now, I am starting to get interested in city planning for cities that cannot plan their cities to be efficient. I am also studying Spanish so I can reach more people. I do not know exactly what I want to do when I graduate, but this is a start!
Ally Sabol - I am not sure what I want to do, but I am going to major in communications. The classes are really interesting, and I have been thinking about doing something in public relations or advertising.
