Each week during the 2011 season, MGoBlue.com will ask each member of the University of Michigan volleyball team the same question as the "Question of the Week."
Week 9: In honor of the team being in the midst of playing eight out of 10 matches on the road, where is your favorite place other than Cliff Keen Arena to play and why?
Claire McElheny - Indiana is my favorite place to play when we are not at Cliff Keen. It is not because of the gym, but I always get to play in front of my friends and family when we go there.
Michelle McMahon - I always like playing in Grand Rapids during the spring season because that is where I am from. During the season, I would have to say Michigan State. It is a hostile place to play and it is such an important rivalry for us.
Courtney Fletcher - Illinois is my favorite place to play because they have the best atmosphere.
Brittany Lee - Penn State is the best place to play because they have really good lighting and a great atmosphere.
Ally Sabol - My favorite place to play is Illinois because their fans are crazy and even though they aren't cheering for us obviously, it's a fun atmosphere to play in. The cheer the fans do right before the game is really cool.
Lexi Erwin - My favorite place to play other than Cliff Keen is Illinois. Their fans are always really loud and literally right on the court, so it makes it a really fun atmosphere to play in. The band and the fans always get really into the game, which adds energy to both sides of the court.
Olivia Reed - Playing at Huff Hall against Illinois was pretty cool because the crowd was great. The gym was electric and any crowd that can wear that much orange deserves some respect.
Sloane Donhoff - I would have to say Indiana University. A lot of my family members get to come up and watch me play because IU isn't very far from Kentucky. So, even though we are out of town, we still have big crowd there cheering us on.
Karlee Bruck - Ohio State. Since I am from Ohio and a lot of my family and friends are from around the area or go to school there, I get to see a lot of them. It also always puts a smile on my face when I hear the band play because I grew up listening to it in the car when my dad would drive.
Lauren Teknipp - It is pretty hard to choose considering I'm a freshman, but I guess I would have to say Illinois because the atmosphere was so loud and crazy. That would pump me up to play even if it isn't our crowd. I would have the determination to quiet their crowd.
Alex Hunt - I would have to say Ohio State because it is a great rivalry and always nice if we can get a win in front of their fans. It is nice to see (associate head coach) Leisa's (Rosen) All-America banner hanging, too.
Jennifer Cross - My favorite place to play other then Cliff Keen Arena would have to be Penn State because the hotel we stay in is really unique and has an amazing breakfast.
Catherine Yager - The next best arena to play at other than Cliff Keen for me is Illinois. They always have an upbeat, big crowd at our games, and this makes it more fun to compete hard to win.
Lexi Dannemiller - This is a hard one, but my favorite place we have played so far has been Illinois because I liked how big the crowd was.
