UCLA's nine goals in the second half were the deciding factor in game two. After trailing 4-2 at the break, Michigan fell behind 8-2 at the end of the third period as a result of four unanswered goals in the period. U-M added one more goal in the fourth period but could not climb out the hole, with the Bruins adding five scores in the final frame.

Golden, Colton and Katie Hazelrigg (Rolling Hills, Calif./Chadwick) put Michigan on the scoreboard with a goal apiece. Goalie Morgan Turner (Mission Viejo, Calif./Trabuco Hills) returned to the pool, posting 11 saves.

Next, the Wolverines will start day two of the UC Irvine Invitational when they face No. 10 Loyola Marymount. The game is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. PST. Depending on the outcome, U-M will either face No. 9 San Diego State or No. 5 Arizona in its final game of the tournament.
