BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- University of Michigan senior Alex Adamson (Coronado, Calif./Coronado HS) was named Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Western Division Defensive Player of the Week in recognition of her effort in goal at the ASU Invitational, the league announced Wednesday (March 27).

It is Adamson's second weekly accolade of the season and sixth of her collegiate career.

Adamson earned the bulk of playing time in goal at the ASU Invitational (March 23-24), posting 14 saves, three assists and three steals through 88 total minutes of play. She allowed just 11 goals and earned all four victories, improving to 13-10 on the season.

Michigan has earned CWPA Player of the Week honors following six of seven weeks of competition. In addition to Adamson, senior Kiki Golden (Danville, Calif./Monte Vista HS) and freshman Barbara Lanier (Lafayette, Calif./Acalanes HS), junior Audrey Pratt (Burlingame, Calif./Burlingame HS), and freshman Bryce Beckwith (Sacramento, Calif./St. Francis HS) have all earned weekly nods this season.

The Wolverines will head to Bloomington, Ind., to face No. 12 Indiana at noon on Saturday (March 30) at the Cousilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center.
