ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Seniors Hathaway Moore (Atherton, Calif./Saint Francis), Kelsey Nolan (San Jose, Calif./Leland HS) and Audrey Pratt (Burlingame, Calif./Burlingame HS) and junior Elizabeth Williams (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad HS) have been named captains of the University of Michigan's water polo team for the 2014 season, head coach Matt Anderson announced on Thursday (Sept. 19).
Moore will serve as team captain for the second straight season. After missing the first several weeks of last season with injury, she bolstered U-M's offense with 11 goals and 14 assists over the final 21 games. In her three collegiate seasons, Moore owns 50 career goals, 45 assists, 95 points and 62 steals. She is also a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
Nolan, the Wolverines' most decorated returning player, has appeared in every Michigan game for three seasons -- a span of 106 contests. A 2012 AWPCA All-America honorable mention selection and two-time CWPA Western Division honoree, Nolan has listed among U-M's leading scorers in each of the last two seasons, totaling 87 goals, 74 assists and 161 points over her career.
Another offensive mainstay, Pratt has appeared in the bulk of U-M games of her career, boasting 69 career goals, 68 assists, 138 points and 63 steals. She owns six career hat tricks and tallied the game-winning overtime goal against rival Indiana last season.
Williams, despite missing several games with injury, established career highs in several statistical categories as a sophomore last season, including points (15) and assists (8). Over her two collegiate seasons, she owns 14 career goals, 15 assists, 29 points and 38 steals. Williams garnered Academic All-Big Ten accolades in 2013.
The Wolverines will open the 2014 campaign with the annual Michigan Kick-Off, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 18-19, at Canham Natatorium. U-M's complete 2014 schedule will be released when finalized.
