ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan water polo team released its 2013 schedule today (Monday, Oct. 21), consisting of 11 tournaments and three single games, including a home-and-home series against rival Indiana. In all, the Wolverines will host four events this season at Canham Natatorium.
U-M starts the 2014 campaign with the annual Michigan Kick-Off on Saturday, Jan. 18.
The Wolverines will largely split time between the coasts in 2014, traveling to California for the Stanford Invitational (Feb. 1-2), Posada Royale Invitational (Feb. 28-March 1) and CSU East Bay and Sonoma State mini tournaments (April 5-6) while heading east for the Bison Invitational (Feb. 15-16) and Harvard Invitational (March 8-9).
Michigan will play at Canham Natatorium on back-to-back weekends in March, hosting the annual Wolverine Invitational on March 15-16 before facing rival Indiana at noon on Saturday, March 29, for the second game in a home-and-home series. The Hoosiers host U-M at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, in Bloomington, Ind.
Admission to all regular-season home events is free.
The Wolverines will also kick off the postseason at home, hosting the first-ever CWPA League Weekend. Taking the place of the Western Division Championship, the event will still feature games between CWPA division opponents.
Finally, Michigan will travel to Lewisburg, Pa., for the CWPA Championship, formerly the Eastern Championship, April 25-27, while the NCAA Championship is scheduled for Friday-Sunday, May 9-11, in Los Angeles, Calif.
Specific tournament games and times will be added as they are finalized.
