Elizabeth Boyle joins Coach Mike McGuire's staff after two seasons as a volunteer assistant with the University of Illinois, where she competed from 2007-11. After her time as a Big Ten student-athlete, Boyle ran with the Hansons Brooks Distance Project in Michigan for one year before returning to Illinois to join the staff of Head Coach Ron Garner.

As a member of the cross country team at Illinois, Boyle was a two-time All-Region runner and was part of the 2009 All-Big Ten Team. She also scored for the Illini during the 2008 and 2009 NCAA Championships, placing 10th and 12th, respectively.

On the track, Boyle broke the 29-year old school record in the 10,000-meter run in 2011. She also holds top 10 all-time performances at 3,000-meters, 5,000-meters and 10,000-meters, scoring points for her team at the Big Ten Championships in each of those respective events.

Academically, Boyle was a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award recipient and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors on three occasions during her collegiate career. Boyle also earned All-Academic Track and Field honors in 2010 and 2011. She hails from Elmhurst, Illinois.
