ID Policy for U-M Football Student Tickets
To be admitted to Michigan Stadium, a student must present at the gate their student ID or MCard, along with their student ticket. No one shall use an ID of another student for this purpose.
However, a non-student may use a student ticket if it is "validated." All validation sales are final. Student tickets are restricted from being sold on StubHub (refer to StubHub Seller Q&A). Once validated, anyone may use the ticket for admission. Any person may validate tickets by paying the required fee per ticket and having an "unrestricted use" sticker(s) affixed to the ticket(s). Only students can validate tickets at the Union Ticket Office by presenting their student ID. This can be accomplished at the following locations:

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Why are student IDs required?
The student ID policy ensures that only eligible U-M students purchase season football tickets. U-M student leaders supported the idea of presenting a student ID upon your arrival at the games so that students receive the full benefit of a discounted ticket. The Athletic Department provides students with tickets at a price that is approximately half of the public ticket price.
2. Can I use student tickets to get my family or friends into a game?
Yes, family and friends can go to the game if you find students who will not be using their football tickets. For more information about transferring a ticket, visit our Transfer Ticket page.
You may purchase validation stickers from the Michigan Union Ticket Office or the Michigan Athletic Ticket office, where a sticker will be affixed to the front of each student ticket. Once validated, no refunds will be issued and your family and friends may use these tickets for admission without a student ID. Please note that when a ticket is scanned, priority points are counted towards the record of the original student season ticket holder.
3. Do I have to wait until the week of each game to validate a student ticket?
No, you may validate student tickets starting mid-August for any home game. Once validated, no refunds will be issued and anyone may use the ticket for admission without a student ID.
4. Can I validate a ticket on game day at the stadium?
Yes, tickets may be validated at the Student Will Call window (North End of Michigan Stadium) starting 2.5 hours before kickoff and running until halftime. However, students are strongly encouraged to validate tickets before game day to avoid delays.
5. Can I give my ticket to another student without paying the validation fee?
Yes, you may give your ticket to another U-M student, who may use his or her ID to be admitted to the stadium. Electronic ticket transferring (via email) will be available for the 2016 season. Students are responsible for correctly transferring their ticket and bringing the correct ticket to the game. Postgame priority points will not be granted in the event a transfer is done incorrectly. Please note that if the student using your ticket does not scan in at the game, you do not receive priority points for that game.
6. Do I have to enter a certain gate to be admitted with my student ID?
Students must enter through Gate 10 with their student ID along with their football ticket. Non-students using a student ticket must present the student ticket with a validation sticker affixed to it at Gate 10.
7. What if I lost my ID?
Ann Arbor students who lost or misplaced their MCard must obtain a replacement prior to game day during normal business hours at an ID station. There will be no ID station open on game days! Please visit www.mcard.umich.edu for more information. Dearborn and Flint students must obtain a replacement from their respective campuses. If you do not have your MCard upon arriving at Michigan Stadium, you will be required to validate your ticket in order to gain entry. No exceptions.
The Athletic Ticket Office is now a new MCard ID issuing station for new, lost, and replacement MCards! The fee for lost or damaged MCards is $20 to be paid by cash, check or credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. The Athletic Ticket Office MCard ID station will be open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted.

Note: Online ticket sales for an event end five hours before game time. After that, tickets may be purchased via phone at (866) 296-MTIX during regular business hours (8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. ET, Monday-Friday) or at the door if an event is not sold out.
