The entire U-M Golf Course grounds and clubhouse are SMOKE-FREE.
The University of Michigan Golf Course has adopted a spikeless shoe policy. Metal spikes are prohibited. Cleat replacement service is available at the course for a fee. Please arrive early to utilize this service.
Reservations may be made one week in advance (i.e., Tuesday for the following Tuesday) by phone (734-615-GOLF), via the online system or in person. Champions Pass holders and Trueblood Club members may make reservations 14 days in advance. Kocsis and MacKenzie Club members may make reservations one month in advance.
The advance reservation policy applies with the understanding that if circumstances prevent fulfillment of the reserved tee time, cancellation notice is provided as early as possible (but no later than one hour prior). Early cancellation is a basic golfer courtesy. Abuses of the tee-time reservation privilege may result in penalty charges levied and/or lead to individual repeal of this privilege.
All golfers must register at the golf shop at least 15 minutes before the reserved tee time and pay applicable green fees. Golfers who fail to do so may lose their scheduled tee time.
Golfers must report to the starter on the first tee at least five minutes before their reserved tee time. Attempts will be made to accommodate golfers who fail to report in time pending availability. You are expected to commence play exactly at the designated tee time, i.e., if your tee time is 5:00 p.m. you must start teeing off at 5:00 p.m., not 5:04 p.m.
Children must be at least nine years old (or receive special management permission) to be on the golf course. Junior players under the age of 16 may not play on Saturdays or Sundays before 1 p.m. unless special permission has been granted.
Rain checks will be issued when the course is closed due to inclement weather or when adverse conditions or circumstances preclude completion of your round of golf. Players will be issued a rain check proportional to the actual number of holes played. Rain checks must be redeemed within one year and are non-transferable.
Appropriate golfing attire is mandatory. No athletic shorts or tank tops will be permitted. Shirts must be worn at all times. What is acceptable and considered appropriate are "walking or Bermuda-style" shorts that reflect modesty and good taste. To avoid embarrassment, please advise your guests of this policy.
GOLF CAR USE
- Cars should always be parked at the rear of the green so golfers can proceed quickly to the next tee after putting out.
- Individuals must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license to operate a golf car.
- Only two riders per golf car.
- Users are responsible for all damage occurring while golf cars are in their possession.
- Please keep golf cars on paths where provided or in the rough and adhere to directional arrows in front of greens. If course conditions dictate exceptions to this general rule, the starter will advise you.
- Golf cars should be kept at least 30 feet from putting greens and green-side bunkers.
For the playing enjoyment of all golfers, University of Michigan Golf Course management is committed to minimizing slow play. The course has been rated by the USGA to reasonably play within three hours and 53 minutes. Therefore, the course should easily be played within a more liberal allowance of four hours and 20 minutes (4:20), with the turn made from the front to the back nine within two hours and 10 minutes (2:10). Golfers not meeting this playing-time standard will be asked to "pick up their pace." Player Assistants are on duty during most playing periods to encourage a reasonable pace, and to courteously exhort groups who fall behind and thus delay following groups. Golfers who do not meet this standard may be asked to leave the course without refund of greens and/or cart fees.
