Victors Club: FAQ -- Priority Point Program
Other FAQs: Preferred Seating Program | Other Questions
What is the Priority Point Program?
The Priority Point Program quantifies every Victors Club member's relationship with the Athletic Department by considering a number of different criteria including athletic giving, University giving, alumni status, and other important measures of commitment to Michigan student-athletes.
How do you acquire priority points?
Priority points are acquired through a number of different criteria. The primary consideration is your charitable support of the Athletic Department. Other criteria include charitable giving to the University, alumni status, U-M letterwinner status, charter membership status in the Victors Club, and season ticket holder status.
When are priority point totals updated?
Priority point totals will be updated annually after the January contribution deadline. Benefits derived from priority point totals will be assigned before the upcoming football season using the newly calculated point totals.
Does my Preferred Seat Donation accumulate priority points?
Yes. Your donation for preferred season tickets accumulates priority points.
I am a charter member of the Victors Club. What special consideration is granted to me for my earlier commitment?
Charter Victors Club members are given special consideration in the new Priority Point Program for their early commitment to the Athletic Depart ment. As a charter member, you receive a one-time-only allocation of 50 extra bonus points. These bonus points are in addition to any other priority points for past or current contributions, your alumni status, letterwinner status, and season ticket holder status. In order to activate your point total, you must contribute a minimum of $100 per year.
I have made past contributions to an athletic capital project, an endowment, or a booster club. Will these contributions accumulate priority points?
Yes. Your past and future donations to both the Athletic Department and the University generate priority points.
I have never made a contribution to Michigan Athletics, but I am a degree holder and have made contributions to other areas of campus. Do I have priority points?
You have an "inactive" priority point total. In order to activate your priority points, you must participate in the Victors Club each year with a minimum annual contribution of $100. When you are a current Victors Club member, your priority points will be activated.
What benefits will be assigned or allocated using the Priority Point Program?
All benefits associated with Victors Club membership will be assigned or allocated, based upon availability, using the Priority Point Program. Away game tickets, bowl tickets, and parking lot assignments will be allocated using priority points. Every Victors Club member requesting tickets or eligible for parking will be sequenced in descending order of priority points and assigned the respective benefit.
Why does athletic giving accumulate more points than contributions to other areas of campus?
The Athletic Department is a self-supporting unit and receives no funds from the University's general budget. The Department is responsible for all expenses related to operating the intercollegiate athletic program including reimbursing the institution for all scholarship expenses for Michigan student-athletes. Gifts to the Department provide direct support to student-athletes. These gifts deserve greater consideration in the Priority Point Program.
Do people on the interest list have priority points?
Those on the interest list may have either active or inactive priority point totals. Priority points are activated for those with a current contribution to the Victors Club of $100 or more. If you do not have a current Victors Club contribution, then your priority points are inactive.
