Victors Club - Preferred Seat Donation Program
The Victors Club Preferred Seat Donation is a part of University of Michigan Athletics overall annual giving program. Currently, three sports have some portion of the season tickets requiring a Preferred Seat Donation -- Football, Men's Basketball Courtside Seats, and Ice Hockey Club Seats. (Note: Courtside and Hockey Club Seats are sold out. You may contact the Victors Club Office to learn more about future availability.)
The color-coded diagram indicates the football preferred seating areas of Michigan Stadium. There are four different annual donation requirements -- Victors ($500 per seat), Valiant ($375 per seat), Maize ($250 per seat) and Blue ($125 per seat). The End Zone donation requirement ($50 per seat) applies to any new season tickets holders in 2005 and beyond. Renewing Football Season Tickets: Non-PSD Area
If your tickets do not require a Preferred Seat Donation, no action is required. Simply keep the PSD form for your file and you will receive your season ticket renewal application in April. This is box 1 on the PSD form. In order to keep your priority points active, you will need to contribute a minimum of $100 per year.
Renewing Football Season Tickets: Donation to Activate Priority Points
If you are in a non-PSD tier and wish to make a contribution to activate your priority points or improve your priority point total, check box 2 on the PSD form and note the additional donation at the bottom of the form.
Renewing Football Season Tickets: PSD Tiers

Determining New Seat Locations
Available seat locations are based on non-renewed seats and are allocated to Victors Club members in the following manner:
- All season ticket requests are first sequenced by annual giving category, for example, first-Champions, second-Leaders, third-Wolverines continuing through all giving levels.
- Secondly, requests are ranked within the giving category by priority point totals.
- Season ticket upgrades and first-time assignments take place after the season ticket renewal.
- There is no guarantee for a specific location at any giving level.
- If your requested location isn't available, you will be assigned the next best available location.
- Please feel free to contact the Victors Club Office after June 30 regarding pending requests.
The following table provides historical information regarding location upgrades and first-time assignments for football season tickets. Each year, the variables change (available season ticket inventory, requests from Victors Club members, etc) associated with season ticket change requests. This table is offered as a guide and a comparable location cannot be guaranteed in any given year.

Your Contributions Earn Tax Deductions
On an itemized federal income tax return, 80% of your PSD is deductible as a charitable contribution thus, reducing your taxable income and your tax liability by an amount equal to 80% of your marginal tax rate - IRS Tax Code 170(1).
Also, you may claim a partial income tax credit on your State of Michigan income tax return. The amount of the credit is the lower of 50% of the contribution or $100 ($200 for a joint return). Credits are a direct reduction of your tax liability. This credit is also based on 80% of the amount you contribute for your PSD.
As with any other situation that has an impact on your taxes, you should always consult a qualified tax professional for advice on your income tax return.
The University gift receipt will reflect 80% of your total PSD amount.
Calendar Year-End Gifts
Year-end donations made by credit card must be received by December 15, 2008 to ensure issuance of a gift receipt for the 2008 Tax Year.
Year-end donations made by check must be postmarked by December 31, 2008 to ensure issuance of a gift receipt for the 2008 Tax Year.
Donations received after these dates will be processed and gift receipted for the 2009 Tax Year.
Matching Gifts
Matching gifts cannot be applied to the Preferred Seat Donation (PSD). The PSD must be fulfilled with the season ticket holder's contribution. If the season ticket holder works for a company with a matching gift program, a matching gift form can be submitted. Matching funds will be treated as an additional donation and reflected in priority point totals.
