Jim Thorpe Award National Defensive Back of the Week
• Jyaire Hill was named the Jim Thorpe National Defensive Back of the Week following the team's win over Oklahoma.
• Hill recorded five tackles and a key fourth-quarter interception, which he returned 23 yards to set up U-M's game-winning touchdown.
• Hill's pick was the first of the season by any Wolverine, and the third of his career.
• The Sooners were limited to 3-of-14 on third and fourth downs, and made only one trip to the red zone.
• The Jim Thorpe Award honors the best defensive back in college football based on performance on the field, athletic ability and character.
Sept. 14 -- John Henry Daley, Cam Brown
Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, Comeback Player of the Week; Ray Guy Award Ray's 8: Week 2
• John Henry Daley was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week following Michigan's win over Oklahoma.
• Daley was also recognized as one of College Football's Comeback Players of the Week.
• Daley recorded eight tackles, including 3.0 for loss with 1.0 sack against the Sooners.
• It marked Daley's first sack as a Wolverine; he entered the season with 12.5 in his career, all at Utah.
• Daley helped the U-M defense limit Oklahoma to 3-of-14 on third and fourth downs, and just 3.4 yards per carry.
• This marks the first Big Ten honor for Daley, and his first in-season recognition from the Comeback Player of Year Award.
• The last Michigan player to earn Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week was Jimmy Rolder (co-), following the win over Michigan State last fall.
• Cam Brown was chosen as one of eight honorees from the Ray Guy Award (Week 2) following U-M's win over Oklahoma.
• Brown punted seven times with a 42.3-yard average and a 51-yard long.
• Six of his seven punts pinned Oklahoma inside its own 20-yard line, including two punts downed at the one-yard line.
• Those six punts inside Oklahoma's 20-yard line are a single-game record at Michigan, dating at least to 1997.
• This is Brown's first inclusion on the Ray Guy Award's Ray 8.
